James Robert Jaques

James Robert Jaques, 74, of Milan, Missouri passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Sullivan County Memorial Hospital in Milan.

Robert was born on October 29, 1945 to Dorothy and Miles Jaques, Jr. Robert is survived by sisters Virginia and late husband Earl Shaw of Milan, Missouri, Barbara and husband Virgil McVey of Aurora, Oregon, and Carol and husband Cully Cowgil of Milan, Mo. Robert is survived by his children: Johna and husband Jeff Jefferson of Milan, David and wife Angie Hall of Bloomfield, Iowa, Gina Bennett and friend William Saverino of Milan, Jeanette Gorup and friend Clint Bogard, Jr., of Milan, Missouri, Darin and wife Heather Jaques of Milan, Missouri. and Brandy and husband Kevin Coltrain of Milan, Missouri. Robert is also survived by many grandchildren: Lacie and husband Duke Snyder of Memphis, Missouri, Jerad and wife Megan of Independence, Missouri, Kindra and husband Tim Viers of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Caydn, Cayne, and the late Caysn Hall of Bloomfield, Iowa, Mark and wife Brandy Reek of Columbia, Missouri, Michaela Bueno of Enid, Oklahoma, Mallory and friend John Brown of Barnsdall, Oklahoma, Christian and friend Ivon Birruete of Milan, Missouri, Myranda Billington of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Abby Morris of Milan, Missouri and Miles Jaques of Milan, Missouri. Robert was also blessed with several great grandchildren: Isabelle and William Andrews of Columbia, Missouri, Brianna, James, and Jace Hail, all of Milan, Serenity and Chandler Snyder of Memphis, Missouri, Cadence Viers, Keagan Hail, and Bryceton Viers of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Angelo, Giovanni, and Michael Bueno of Enid, Oklahoma, Eliah and Mathias Keefer, of Milan, Missouri.

Robert worked on the family farm for many years. He raised hogs and cows and harvested corn and soybeans for a time. Robert did custom haying for his neighbors and shared sweet corn with the community. He was a strong John Deere fan and adored his tractors. He was a member of some community organizations. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and served as President. He was a Mason, a Jaycee and a member of Liberty Union Baptist Church. For the past few years, he attended Christ’s Community Church in Milan. He enjoyed his time working in the Green City Food Market and catering to the public. Robert loved spending time with his family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed telling off color jokes and stories. He would want each of you to know that a life lived filled with laughter, surrounded by your family and friends, is the only life worth living.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City. Burial will follow at Bairdstown Cemetery. A visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Saturday evening at the funeral home.
