Melvin Keith Rinehart

Melvin Keith Rinehart, 84 years old, of Milan, Missouri, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020, at Brookfield Life Care Center in Brookfield, Missouri.

Keith was born April 22, 1936 in Reger, Missouri to Reginald and Velma (Kelsall) Rinehart. On June 21, 1958 in Purdin, Missouri he married Sharon (Miller) Rinehart, she preceded him in death in 2006. Also preceding him: his parents; two granddaughters in infancy; a great granddaughter in infancy; two brothers, James Rinehart and Dean Rinehart; two sisters, Betty Spencer and Naomi Jennings; and brother-in-laws, Jerry Miller and Donnie Ray Miller.

Keith is survived by: One son, David Rinehart and wife Machelle of Unionville, Missouri; two daughters, Becky Williams and husband Bobby of Milan and Megan Courtney and husband Jeff of Milan; grandchildren, Ashley Tipton and husband Jeff, Brad Hines and wife Jessie, Stacy Meinke and husband Troy, Amber Stull and husband Shaun, Sarah Melone and husband Matt, Eric Williams, Greg Williams, Erin Richardson and husband Geoff, Hayden Courtney, and Haylee Courtney; great grandchildren, Madison Tipton, Sydney Tipton, Hollie Hines, Owen Hines, Thomas Meinke, Clara Meinke, Adelyn Stull, Chase Stull, Ella Stull, Ryleigh Williams, and Noah Williams; one sister, Doris Cooper of West Plains, Missouri; sister-in-laws, Barbara Rinehart of Purdin, Jean Miller of Browning, Sherman and Elaine Miller of Kearney, Missouri and Elaine Miller of Purdin; a brother-in-law, Gerald Jennings of Gladstone, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Keith lived most of his life in Sullivan County and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Milan. He served in the United States Army and was a member of American Legion Post #297. Keith was a mechanic, working for Miller’s Garage and then Kronhart Chevrolet and Charlie Crocker. He owned and operated Rinehart’s Repair until retiring in 2004. In his younger years, he enjoyed the Bowling club, going hunting and fishing, playing golf, and restoring old cars.

Funeral services for Keith will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the United Methodist Church in Milan. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Milan with Military Rites. A visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service, starting at 1:00 PM. Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan is handling arrangements. The family requests masks be worn at the services.
