L.A. ANGELS 8 – Texas 5… Jared Walsh unloaded a grand slam to highlight a seven-run bottom of the fourth inning that carried the Angels past the Rangers. Max Stassi sparked the uprising with a two-run single.

WASHINGTON 5 – Philadelphia 1… Anibal Sanchez (3-5) limited the Phillies to a run on four hits over five innings. Asdrubal Cabrera and Brock Holt both had two hits and an RBI.

CLEVELAND 7 – Chi. White Sox 4… The Indians put away the White Sox after letting a 4-0 fifth-inning lead slip away. Carlos Santana blasted a tie-breaking two-run homer. Jose Ramirez also went deep.

CINCINNATI 6 – Milwaukee 3… Curt Casali homered to lead off the bottom of the eighth inning and Mike Moustakas added a three-run shot as the Reds downed the Brewers. Eugenio Suarez homered with a runner aboard. Luis Castillo (4-5) allowed a run on four hits and struck out nine in 6-2/3 innings.

Chi. Cubs 5 – PITTSBURGH 0… Jon Lester (3-2) pitched four-hit ball over six innings and got help from three relievers in the blanking of the Pirates. Kyle Schwarber stroked a two-run double.

TORONTO 11 – N.Y. Yankees 5… Vladimir Guerrero drove in three runs with a pair of doubles and the Blue Jays got solo homers from Randal Grichuk and Alejandro Kirk in their pounding of the Yankees. Kirk was 4-for-4 on the night.

ATLANTA 5 – Miami 4… The Braves eased past the Marlins after spotting them an early 3-0 lead. Riley stroked a two-run double to cap a four-run bottom of the first and Ronald Acuna’s second-inning double scored Dansby Swanson with the decisive run.

Tampa Bay 2 – N.Y. METS 1… Brandon Lowe scored on Manuel Margot’s sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning and homered in the fourth as the Rays held off the Mets and lowered their magic number for clinching the AL East to one. Six pitchers combined on a four-hitter.

KANSAS CITY 4 – St. Louis 1… Maikel Franco delivered a tie-breaking two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Royals got past the Cardinals. Six pitchers held St. Louis to six hits.

SEATTLE 6 – Houston 1… Marco Gonzales (7-2) scattered seven hits over eight scoreless innings and the Mariners cruised past the Astros. Evan White blasted a three-run homer.

Colorado 7 – SAN FRANCISCO 2… Elias Dias lined a two-run single, Kevin Pillar homered with the bases empty and the Rockies breezed past the Giants. German Marquez (3-6) allowed a run on five hits over six innings.
