Mary Hazel Wells, 93, of Concordia, MO, died August 5, 2020 at the Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
She was born November 20, 1926 in Jennings, Louisiana to Evalina (Sonnier) and Augustin Clements.
Hazel grew up in Louisiana and Texas. She worked many jobs as a young woman. She met Fordy Wells while working as a waitress. They were married in February of 1949. Shortly after marriage Fordy and Hazel returned to Putnam County, Missouri.
Three children were born to this union: Laretta, Jason, and Cloyd. Fordy preceded her in death in 1985. She moved to Concordia in 2000.
Hazel worked various jobs until the children were born. She then worked as a housewife, mother, and helped on the farm.
Hazel enjoyed quilting, gardening, and fishing. She took many children fishing to share her love of the sport.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Ken Wilsie; sister, Odelia Deggs; brother, Norris Clements.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 2 pm at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Cincinnati, Iowa, officiated by Rev. Liz Lindsey.
Arrangements are under the Kaiser-Wiegers Funeral Home of Higginsville, MO.
