John Morris Warren, 88 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020.
The son of John Morris and Ione Cora (Densmore) Warren, he was born July 24, 1932 in Hillsdale, Michigan. On June 14, 1952 in North Adams, Michigan he was united in marriage to Lucinda Ruth Phillips.
John is survived by his wife, Lucinda; five children, Maurice Warren and wife Kathy of Brighton, MI, Phillip Warren and wife Barbara of Norman, OK, Patricia Jorden and husband Steve of Kirksville, Steven Warren and wife Jeanette of DeWitt, MI, and Joseph Warren and wife Sharon of Lansing, MI; thirteen grandchildren, Stephanie Johnson, Matthew Warren, Kevin Warren, Jonathan Warren, Karen Quinette, Beth Ann Hall, Caleb Jorden, Benjamin Jorden, Jeremy Jorden, Tyler Warren, Alyssa Warren, Tim Warren, and Kelsey Hill; and twenty-three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Owen Warren and three sisters, Frances Estry, Helen Ballitch, and Dorothy Wakeman.
John graduated high school in 1950 in Litchfield, Michigan. He graduated from Grand Rapids Baptist Theological Seminary in 1958. Throughout his career he pastored five churches. He then worked as a child care worker for the V.F.W. National Children’s Home until he retired. After retirement he and Lucinda moved to Kirksville.
He was a member of Grace Community Bible Church in Kirksville. His passion was leading others to know the forgiveness of God through Jesus. He loved people and telling them of how Jesus changed his life!
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Pastor Benjamin Jorden officiating. John will be cremated following the service.
