Sherry Bowling

Sherry Lynn (Young) Bowling, 58 of rural Lancaster, Missouri passed away at her home on Thursday, April 9, 2020.

The daughter of James Leon and Norma June (Pierson) Young, she was born on October 23, 1961 in Unionville, Missouri. She graduated with a two-year degree from Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, Missouri in 1982. She worked for Dr. Rex Lee for many years before traveling with her husband as a secretary for W & L Construction and more recently Eatherly Constructors in Garden City, Kansas.

She was united in marriage to Paul Douglas Bowling on October 21, 1983 in Lancaster, Missouri by Judge Steve Willcox.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Paul Douglas Bowling of rural Lancaster, Missouri; two step children, Kyle Bowling of Grimes, Iowa and Laci Tallman and husband, Jeff of Glenwood, Missouri; five grandchildren, Carson, Avery and Kelsey Tallman all of Glenwood, Missouri, Tanner Gottman of Boone, Iowa and Zoe Bowling of Grimes, Iowa; Sherry’s father, James Young of Green City, Missouri; one sister, Shelly Eisenmann and husband, Alan of Green City, Missouri; one brother, Steve Young and wife, Cindy of Green City, Missouri; mother-in-law, Joyce Reynolds of Lancaster, Missouri; three brothers-in law, Earl Bowling of Centerville, Iowa, Tim Bowling and wife, Denise of Queen City, Missouri and Richard Bowling and wife, Phylis of Lancaster, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Beverly Oliver and husband, Ronnie of Glenwood, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews; other family members and many many good friends.

Sherry is preceded in death by her mother, Norma Young; father-in-law, H. P. Bowling; sister-in-law, Lois Bowling and stepfather-in law, Larry Reynolds.

Sherry enjoyed going to NASCAR Races, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and most of all drinking wine with her sister-in-law, Phylis!

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. at the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, pastor of the church officiating. A special musical selection of “In Color” will be performed. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Hurley, Glenn Roberts, A. C. Watts, Kevin Sayre, Carlon Sayre, Richard Hudson, Daryle Bennett and Chris Dabney. Doors will be opened at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2020 and the Celebration of Life services will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri.
