Kirksville High School head football coach Conrad Schottlel has informed the school of his intention to resign that position effective immediately. In his notice to the school, Schottel cited his growing family in his decision to resign. Schottel and his wife Samantha are expecting their third child. Schottel held a meeting Friday morning to inform his team of his resignation. Schottel coached four seasons at KHS, and this past season led the Tigers to their first district tournament victory under its current format with a 35-34 win on the road at Warrenton. A fumble recovery by the Tigers with under a minute to go sealed the win. Schottel will continue teaching at the Primary School.
