Carolina 6 – FLORIDA 3… Ryan Dzingel netted two goals as the Hurricanes doubled up on the Panthers for their fourth straight win to open the season.

Edmonton 5 – N.Y. ISLANDERS 2… James Neal had a four-goal night in leading the Oilers past the Islanders. Connor McDavid had three assists.

Winnipeg 4 – PITTSBURGH 1… Mark Scheifele and Patrik Laine each had three assists as the Jets skated past the Penguins.

Dallas 4 – WASHINGTON 3 (OT)… Tyler Sequin scored 43 seconds into overtime to lift the Stars over the Capitals for their first win of the season.

Anaheim 3 – DETROIT 1… Nik Ritchie scored a tie-breaking goal midway through the third period as the Ducks downed the Red Wings. Jakob Silfverberg had a goal and an assist.

NASHVILLE 5 – San Jose 2… Roman Josi scored the Predators’ first two goals in the win over the Sharks. Goalie Pekka Rinne made 33 saves.


Los Angeles 4 – CALGARY 3 (OT)… Drew Doughty’s power-play goal 50 seconds into overtime sent the Kings past the Flames. Doughty had two assists in regulation.

Boston 4 – VEGAS 3… Brad Marchand scored two goals and assisted on another as the Bruins held off the Golden Knights. David Pastrnak had a goal and two assists.
